WHY THE PRO-ALIGN WORKS

Most putting aids only teach the proper putting stroke.

The Pro-Align teaches you the entire putting process.

  • Reading the break
  • Lining up your putt
  • Proper setup
  • Proper stroke

Reading the break of the putt: Say you select a putt that breaks right to left 12 inches. You set the Pro-Align up aiming 12 inches to the right. Now you stroke your putt and because of the immediate feedback, you see the ball go straight out your aim line. If you have good speed, and still miss the putt, you now know that you misread the break. Make an adjustment to your line by rotating the Pro-Align and try again. What may break 12 inches on one green is not going to break 12 inches on every green. There’s a lot that affects the break of a putt: speed of the green, grain, type of grass your putting on etc... Using the Pro-Align before each round will allow you to find the break of the green for that course, for that day, know matter when you play!

Setting up to your aim line: Many golfers have a tendency to set up incorrectly to their aim line. Try it out next time your practicing. Have someone stand behind you while you line up your putt. Once you think you have it lined up, ask your friend where you’re aiming. More often than not, it’s not where you think. Now set the Pro-Align up and point it down your aim line. Address the ball, square the putter face, and look straight down the Alignment Bar and follow it straight out past the cup. I bet it feels like you’re lined up incorrectly. This is what the Pro-Align does, it helps you to see and feel what a proper line is. Trust this! Next time your on the course, you’ll know what it feels like to aim 12 inches left or right, or whatever the break is on your next putt.

Ball Position: The ball should be positioned directly under the Alignment Bar so that you see equal halves of the ball on each side of the Alignment Bar. This will let you know that your eyes are directly over the ball when putting.

Square Putter Face: Once again, this goes back to setting up to your aim line. Very few of the golfers we tested set their putter face square to their aim line. This is very important, if you are not square to your aim line, the only way to get the ball rolling on your line is to rotate the putter at impact to get the ball on line. This usually results in a pushed or pulled putt. Of course you get lucky every once in a while but remember, we are trying to get you to develop a repeatable putting stroke.

Immediate Feedback: The Pro-Align will provide immediate feedback on pushed or pulled putts. How can you improve if you don’t know why you are missing your putts. If you’re practicing on the green without the Pro-Align, you won’t know. Focusing on the Orange Spot while putting will let you see if you are pushing or pulling your putts, or hitting them on line. If you have problems pushing or pulling, refer back to the 3-Foot Drill to correct those putts.

Becoming a good putter takes some practice. The Pro-Align will help you become a better putter by practicing the right way, every time.

Remember what Bob Toski says: “Proper practice creates success for fewer putts per round. No device is simpler to use than the Pro-Align”
