Located in Pittsburgh, PA, Innovative Golf Products was created by Phil Kinney. Phil wanted to develop training aids for the golfing industry that are simple to use yet very effective.

The Pro-Align came to be at the 2006 Father/Son golf tournament in Myrtle Beach, SC. During the scramble format, Phil was getting ready to putt his eagle attempt when his son, Patrick, noticed he was aiming way to far right. Patrick stood behind Phil and lined him up for the putt. 40 feet later, the ball dropped. On the way back to Pittsburgh, Phil was thinking about that putt and decided to create a product that could help him with his alignment and squaring his putter face. Thus the Pro-Align was born.
